Fabulous cabaret star Miss Hope Springs has a new show. Entitled "Out Of This World" I went along to have a look. I have to admit to being somewhat biased because I am a huge fan, but she's done it again and offers us a clever, classy, funny evening of top-notch entertainment. It really is out of this world!
Miss Hope Springs has new hair too. Or a new hairdresser. Or both. FAB!
Speaking of hair, I was looking just now at a post I wrote some 5 and a half years ago entitled Long, Long Hair. All of it still rings true, except that I am no longer able to ride my bike so the nightly head massages are less important than they were back then. My hair has also turned much whiter than it is in the photograph on Long, Long Hair which has encouraged me to look at old lady hair products.
I recently rediscovered a favourite from the past; Vitapointe, a leave-in conditioner much used by grannies when I was a child and by me in the late 80s when I was first growing my hair. It's as good now as it was then and at £2.09 is way cheaper than any of the overpriced serums that do a similar job.
As a big fan of the silver rinse I went searching for Roux Fancifull, a water-based rinse that came in granny-favoured shades of blue, pink and silver but I couldn't find it anywhere. Instead I bought a bottle of Touch of Silver conditioner which the bottle tells me is "for grey, white or platinum blonde hair" and contains optical brightener. It’s actually purple and smells exactly like the suburban shampoo-and-set hairdressing salons of my childhood. FAB!
